NIC General is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited (NIC). NIC General was incorporated on 3rd March, 2014 and took over the general insurance businesses of NIC in compliance with the legal requirement for separation of insurance businesses under the Insurance (Amendment) Act.

NIC General Insurance is looking for an experienced candidate to take up positions of Office Secretary.

            Job Title          :          Office Secretary

            Work Location:          Mukono

            Reports to       :           Area Sales Representative

            Purpose           :         To ensure the efficient and smooth running of all office activities and operations.                                      .                                                                         you will be required to maintain positive and professional relationships with
clients, coworkers, and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As an Assistant, you will be performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties
  • Providing efficient and accurate support to managers and other employers.
  • Greeting and directing visitors
  • Answering phone calls and emails
  • Respond to and solve complaints, problems, concerns, and requests
  • Scheduling meetings, conferences, and other promotional activities
  • Monitoring and ordering and distributing office supplies.
  • Attend to and advise clients on the general insurance queries, complaints, and appeals
  • Generate relevant correspondence to stake holders in line with the underwriting standards and guidelines.
  • Make travel and other arrangements
  • Take messages, sort email, and operate office machines
  • Perform data entry and maintain and update filing system
  • Write letters, emails, faxes, and forms
  • Organize and maintain common office area
  • Adhere to office policies and procedures
  • Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers
  • Any other professional duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s in Degree or any related field from a reputable University.
  • Certificate of proficiency in Insurance
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in insurance
  • Previous working experience as an Assistant, Personal Assistant, or a similar position
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Familiarity with office management systems and procedures
  • Ability to use office equipment, such as printers, scanners, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
